Eastern Vic Surf Report - Beginners & Kids

Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island to Mallacoota

Sunday 15/3/15

Best Beginners & Kids Surf Spots*

Mornington Peninsula to Phillip Island:  Smiths & YCW Beaches Phillip Island for smaller waves & marginal shelter from the wind, best early on the higher tide & whilst winds are lighter.

Kilcunda to Wilsons Promontory:  Surf Beach Inverloch & Waratah Bay for smaller waves & marginal shelter from the wind.

Lakes Entrance to Mallacoota:  Main Beach Mallacoota.  Expect bigger & bumpy waves on South facing beaches, best avoided by inexperienced surfers.

Bigger & smooth waves this morning on open beaches, best suited to experienced surfers.

Remember, catching green (unbroken) waves is often easier on mid to high tides (less nosedives) or if the waves are too big or challenging, surf whitewater waves close to shore, which is often best on mid to low tides in waist deep water.

Click the tide tab on the charts above for more info on tide times & heights today.
