On big swells, head up to the Mid Coast for smaller waves.
Further down the coast, Long Beach Robe Southern end is best for shelter from larger Southerly & mid sized Westerly swells & on South East to Easterly winds with marginal shelter from Southerly winds.
Surf Beach Beachport Northern end is best for shelter from larger Westerly swells & small to mid sized Southerly swells & on East to Northerly winds along with marginal shelter from Westerly winds closer to town.
Remember, catching green (unbroken) waves is often easier on mid to high tides (less nosedives) or if the waves are too big or challenging, surf whitewater waves close to shore, which is often best on mid to low tides in waist deep water.
